What does a pre-purchase inspection cover?
A pre-purchase inspection looks at the overall mechanical condition of the vehicle — engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, cooling system, electrical systems, body and underbody — plus a diagnostic scan and a road test where possible.
Is a pre-purchase inspection the same as an RWC?
No. An RWC only confirms the vehicle meets minimum safety standards for registration. It doesn’t assess things like engine condition, gearbox health or upcoming maintenance costs.
Can the seller bring the car to you?
Yes — ask the seller to bring the car to our Melton workshop. Book ahead so we can inspect it promptly.
Do you inspect European cars?
Yes. We have particular experience with European vehicles, which can have expensive known issues worth checking before you buy.
